On the Road Out East

A few friends and myself made a trip out to the New York area to hear one of our favorite bands NRBQ celebrate their 35th anniversary with two shows up in North Hampton MA.

On the way up we decided to stop at the legendary Big Pink house where another favorite group of ours The Band lived and wrote a lot of the music for their first record, Music From Big Pink.

The fabled Basement Tapes with Bob Dylan were also recorded there. The house is up in the Woodstock / West Saugerties area, beautiful country not too dissimilar from the Red Wing area here in Minnesota. With the Catskill mountains in the background and the magnolia trees in full bloom it made for a wonderful afternoon.
